Hey I am nearly finished putting 4AG-20V silver into my KE70.
Its my daily driver just wanted something with more legs and economy than the old 4K. Since I prolly won’t be moding the engine, didn’t really want to go aftermarket ECU, and I figure standard ECU will prolly give me better economy.
Didn’t really want to cut a hole in the firewall, and I hate air flow meters! So begins modify the standard ECU project!
I am just using the standard dizzy will the cap and rotor removed, so it is just acting as a crank angle sensor and a MAP sensor off a 3S.
I have reverse engineered most of the circuits that I require in the ECU, I am using a small PIC microprocessor that takes the NE/G1/G2/IGT signals and creates two signals I call IGTa IGTb, Toyota normally just have one IGT line and a enable line to select which coil to fire but I didn’t want to have to find a 4AGZE igniter so decided to create two separate IGT signals so I can use normal igniters.
Project is going alright just trying to source another 20v igniter at the mo, but I think I might try using 3S igniters as they are easier to find.
Second stage of the project will be to create a lookup table to convert AFM into MAP, did a bit of research think this shouldn’t be to hard.
Will keep you updated on my progress...
