16v for the win

Im undecided, but probaly 16V, I had the choice to either go 20V or 16V when I did my swap, money wasnt really a worry but i always been more fond of the 16V, so went with that.

My choice in order of preference would be..

Blackytop
Any of the 16's
Then silver...

i would have liked a blacktop but the thought of throwing a rod didn't appeal to me. nor did forking out the extra $$$

Are you planning on making it turbo?

And yes, the Atlanta spec 16v is good, but so is TRD's Group A Silvertop!

What makes you say that? The silvertop pretty damn near always fails to deliver (in stock or stockish guise) whereas the others come somewhat closer to hitting the mark.

silver top 20valve all the way ive been in a ae92,ae101 and ae111 levins with just exhaust and filter on all three and i felt the silver top was alot quicker. in saying that the blue top 16v seems to be the best for consistent power through the rev range i felt.

Having owned, or currently owning a silvertop 20v, blacktop 20v, and redtop smallport 16v and having also driven a few of bluetops my conlusion is this:

Blacktop is by for the best for quickness, then silvertop, Then 16V

Reliabilty seem to go in the reverse order lol :lol:

I have raced many a 16V on drag strips in the blacktop powered car including 16V S/C and never been beaten, Although the S/C ones are impressive

I think you are thinking of the Japanese Formula Toyota. 20 Valves have never been Atlantic spec.

16 valve all the way. Who here with a 20 valve can beat 178bhp at the wheels NA?
