I would agree with that, when I was looking at importing a bz-r.....they were all going for about 14-16 grand.

I thought that was a bit strange because everyone told me importing would be cheaper :D

You got that right Davo..
We were actually looking for a new Glanza V me my next Car (something cheap to run as be a poor student agian next year :( ) and for a real top grade one with round 70,000kms was still looking at $7,500 - $8,500 landed then the hassle of getting it on the Road on top of that..
So I've told him to find me one that has been modded with all the gear to make it worth while.. He check's the action's and send's me the Detail's/Pic's when he find's some :D ..

Im with Ajz on this one you sure cause that pretty cheap.
And some how I don't think the Auction Site's he use's are rip off's or he wouldn't use them as that's his job Importing Car's for Car Sale's!
back in the day you could import thing's hell modded for cheap but now they have caught on to that fact hence the price's not being as cheap as they were!

Ok ok im no bullshit! This is a hard site to become a part of and its sorta exclusive if u have mates in Japan which we do and yes he paid $6000 rego wof on the road in NZ with all this shit. Couldnt keep the adjustables though cause they wouldnt VINZ it with em. Suppose its all who u know. Oh and this was landed November last year! 8O

Thats true....Bought for $1500 in Japan
By the time it was here/complied/WOF/12mths reg it came to just $4500

Similar story, my mate with a black gen 4 MR2 paid $2500 for it in japan (had 80k on it and was very tidy)....ending up costing around $5300 all reg and wof etc.

It's basically just who you know in the industry that can get them cheap for you.
