Tinting Tail Lights

Postby john_l » Thu Apr 13, 2006 10:32 am

I have an ae111 Levin and I have looked everywhere for new taillights and i see that some people have them tinted..

Is this legal?

My car currently looks like this -
Image
I reckon it would look cool with blacked out taillights etc...

j/w if using stockings etc is legal, and what the best way to do it was or if to do it at all...

Cheers

Why would you want to do this?

It makes your stop lights etc hard to see at day and night for other people on the road trying to drive aswell.

AFAIK stockings are not legal and neither are tinting your tailights...

Definately.. BZR Trueno tail lights are good, not that cheap though. $200-ish each if you knows people :)

Could be up to $350 each through Braxtons etc.

Completely illegal, may sneak through a WoF but that won't help you if someone hits you and claims your lights were too dark.

i tinted my tail lights purely beacuse i have a trueno face lift, and the tail lights are not the nicest feature... i havn't had any trouble from the cops for them.

Just use a can of tint spray from repco, its only 10$.. then you can control how dark you want them. (detatch them from your car first... and wipe them with meths... just in case you hadnt worked that out your self)

Did you miss the bit where it was stated that it was entirely illegal????

DONT. TINT. YOUR. TAIL. LIGHTS.

Seems simple enough, really.
