blown head gasket!!!

just blew the head gasket on my 4k engine, has had water on top of the pistons etc an cant be f@#!t puttin anotha whole 4k in at the mo. would it be possible just to replace the head gasket and put new oil in ?? cheers

i dont see why you cant just replace the head gasket..?

Depends on if there is any damage to the block or head surface.

Its a 4K, chuck a new H/G on, spray with coppercote, and put fresh oil in and it'll go for another 250,000

because i didnt check everything else and the engine was severly warped, but yeah, prevent it happening again by replacing thermostat, water pump and maybe hoses, otherwise mint

When you take it off chuck a straight edge across the block and head (after you clean ALL the shit off).
If you can't see ANY gaps under the straight edge, then just slap it back together.
(this is of course only on a motor you don't care about, such as this 4k, should be ok tho, if not, you will only have wasted a few hours and a head gasket).
