so um the whole point of that post was... holden nova taillights are just tinted ae92 tails... would i get away with recreating them with my taillights or should i go to the trouble of importing nova ones??
When in doubt, down and out.

It is illegal to apply any kind of tint film, tint paint or opaque sticker to any lamp which has a function other than decoration (eg non-cosmetic).

does this make those covers you can get for caldina and altezza taillights illegal or is the "crystal" part of the light considered a cosmetic part??

Not familiar with the covers myself, but if they change the colour of the light or act as a 'tint' at all I'd say theyre illegal.

Hmmmmmmm, so this in theory means that the tail lights on the Uno are illegal.

Although they get through WOFs at VTNZ and are more than visible from 200 metres, due to brighter bulbs.

Hmm.

And for the record, they have that Repco tint stuff on them I think, there was a can of it in the back of the car that the lights came off.
