Sorry I guess I wasn't very clear in my first posts. They don't have to show you but in the situation of gtpornstar they do because you didn't believe you were speeding. If you ask they have to show you is what I was trying to say.

No they don't. Most do to stop all agurements, because if you see the speed yourself, you havn't really got much to complain about, but honestly, they are within their rights to say no, esp if they didnt accutly lock you, just saw your speed on the radar, but didnt hit lock.

Complete and utter BS, the offence doesn't suddenly mutate into a criminal one just because you take it to court.

Not that I'd take a speeding one to court anyway unless you've got money and time to waste because the chances of winning are very slim

I do know that the hawk radars don't store date and time of the reading so they can easily show you a reading from 1/2 hour ago and you wouldn't know when it was taken.

Friends dads a cop, asked him the question and he agreed. You cant be given a ticket without seeing the readout if you ask.

And this happened to me and i asked a cop to see it as i knew i wasnt speeding and he said he couldnt show me it, so i refused to take the ticket. Havnt heard anything about it since.

*in before the lock*

No offense to all you 'My [insert relative] is a cop, they have to know this to do their job" types, but simple fact is that most of the times I've been pulled over, I've been the one quoting the law to the officer - they do NOT seem to know the law themselves.

Now I know your mum is not a traffic cop. It automatically locks on when it detects someone breaking the speed limit.

On the I'm behind you fighting it note...
Cops issue tickets that are easier to just pay than go to court for. They know people cant afford to take the ticket to court and will just pay it. Fight back!!! I detest cops abusing their power...
When in doubt, down and out.

To be honest its not really about the money cause its way easier for me to do that but its about being fair to the public on the road and also about the demerit points !!!

I'm sitting here shaking my head- this is a subject that annoys the fcuk out of everyone- speeding tickets. I got pinged by a camera van for doing 7km over the limit (always figured the tolerence was 10km after it hit the papers last year, but what the hey). Tempted to fight it, but for $30?

We have a whole forum thread for the proper specifications of a GT4; why not have one for what your rights & options are when pulled over for [place reason here]?

Yeah thats the thing that sucks aye, the demerits. By the time people get round to paying a fine they have usually lost all emotional connection with the incident and can't remember it. This is why fines don't work, people will just reoffend so I think its all stupid anyway but Demerits stick with you for such a long time.

You can ask to see the log book for the radar/laser too. IIRC it needs to be calibrated dailey. But someone may be more sure on that so take it with a grain of salt. Anyway it was sujested to me by an x cop that if it wasnt done that day to sign the book your self.
