wet windy roads = danger!! some of you may recognise this car as one which was advertised on toyspeed not long ago. my girlfriend came around a corner, not speeding or anything, and felt it lose traction and thats all she remembers.

between then and her crawling out of the car she managed to skid off the road, hit a ditch then flip in mid air down the (approx) 1 metre bank and land on the front passengers pillar crushing that which caused the roof to just fold in on itself, back onto the wheels then over onto the roof again.

she crawled out her window, and thats where she got hurt the most as she had to crawl through all the broken glass and straight onto some cutty-grass. luckily she was by herself as anyone in the passengers seat would most likely not be here anymore. the roof is about level with their shoulders. the drivers side of the roof is pretty much sweet.

these are the only pics ive got of it at the moment from my phone. i've got a heap more on my camera which is being developed now. I'm trying to get pics of it at the actual crash but the cops won't give them to me unless I write to them or go thru a lawyer...

and alan - don't worry about that indicator lens anymore, thanks for looking anyway!

yea, when I rolled a car it was only just written off because of the cost of repairs. I didn't think she'd do it this well so when she told me I thought "oh yea, should be kinda fixable without too much trouble"

definitely no "kick the roof out and she'll be sweet" job.
she was very lucky to stop where she did, if she'd rolled once more it would've been down a big bank into trees etc and no one would've been able to see the car from the road. luckily she was always wears her seatbelt too; that (and the glass) is mostly where her injuries came from, but it would definitely have been a lot worse had she not been wearing one.

it kinda puts me off driving a 30 year old RWD car which has no pillars in the middle now :?

which parts are you after? i got some of the aftermarket stuff off it (springs, steering wheel, exhaust muffler etc). the car now is at a wreckers yard and there would only be limited parts I could get off it now.

don't get me wrong, I was definitely shocked and upset when it happened. we've had time to talk about it and are moving on with stuff now though.

and that's already been done, and I have to say we actually done better than we normally do off lotto tickets  definitely not enough to cover the car though unfortunately!
