Who is going to Pukekohe for the V8's?

Postby KinLoud » Fri Apr 21, 2006 8:52 pm

By some fluke I have Sat and sunday off.
I'm thinking of watching the V8's (NZ and supercars) at Pukekohe but not sure if I feel like wandering around on my own...
Who else is going? We could all meet up?

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Race 1 today was pretty good. I would have hated to have lost powersteering like a couple did.
End result:Image

And even worse for Greg Murphy on the first turn.

Yeah - went yesterday (saturday) had a good view of turn one through to the hairpin.
Saw Saft and atmosports as well as a stack of other people I know. Great day except for crashes... bent racecars make me sad. However I'm glad no one got badly hurt!

Gary - saw you driving in (GT4 20 numberplate I presume it was you) while I was in the queue to buy a ticket... but I got one number wrong when I put your mobile number into my phone so couldn't call you (doh!).

Damnit Ken I just saw this now.
I was there yesterday with Chris wandering around. We all scored free In Field tickets so couldn't pass it up. :P

I was there yesterday, was right next to where the porsche crashed as it happened :?

They did announce over the pa system that nobody was hurt, I guess that includes the driver of the porsche so hopefully he's ok.

Did anyone else see the race with the imports in it?
The poor celica got left for dead - it was about half a lap behind by the end of the race.

Yep, that was me. Had some parking passes which was quite good. However, by the time we got there today, the car park was full (someone must have got the number of passes handed out horribly wrong) so we had to go further afield. Can't complain really as they were freebies though
