Speedo sender seized?

Postby ATAl » Sat Apr 22, 2006 12:36 pm

The right angle speedo sender attached to the gearbox (e51) seems to have seized. Is there some trick to making it turn while out of the car, or should it just turn easily?

Also are there any direct replacement senders from other gearboxes? (things with 3sge's?) I imagine trying to find another gze levin at pick-a-part will be a waste of time.

Nup, it ought to turn quite freely. Mine siezed up, and sheared the pin that drives the cable. I freed it up with sewing machine oil 8O

So it is fixable? Did you just soak it in oil or what?
