Did you check for error codes before you reset the ecu?

do that after checking the codes....

codes may point to it, if no codes then check above as that fault doesnt show codes

i have come across two silvertops before with the same syptom. i put a timing light on it and the igntion would not advance when reving. no fault codes although engine light would come on while driving. both times the ecu was faulty. removed and sent to a place in nelson called anything electronic.

is your car manual? try plugging it in and going for a drive. it may come up with a fault code if your car is manual but just give it a go and see

It won't fit, plugs are different AFAIK.

You would have to rewire for that.
