Windom/ES300

Postby itsamirage » Thu Apr 27, 2006 4:41 pm

Im buyin a 92 windom next week if my loan is accepted, planning on goin the vip/poser way on mods haha, pricin up airbags, big wheels etc etc anyway thats not the point its auto and I would prefer it was manual, is there a box that will replace my auto one? I think the engine is a 3VZ-FE, its a 3L V6 anyway. Also if I start feeling extra stupid would a 2JZ-TTE fit in? Any help of advice would be great I've only ever owned mitsi's so dont know alot about toyotas, cheers

2JZ will not fit. Window is FWD, 2JZ is straight six, can't put it sideways ;).

Why not? If its mated to a fwd box I dont see a problem. Only thing I can see being a prob is mounting it..

JZ is too long to fit by itself in there don't forget gearbox...
You cannot fit JZ in EAST-WEST configuration. Even if it will go in North-South , it will be very un-economical. Get a 2JZGTE Aristo, they even look better.

a lot of work s/c an engine thats not made for it..... and you wanted to fit a 2jzgte....

i suggest that before you buy a windom, you research them a bit, and other cars you can get for the same $$$

my personnal recomendation is to NOT buy a windom....

mr Revhead......shhhhh....dont let him know about good cars...he may put 20" chromes and a big wing on that too and ruin a perfectly good performance car ;)

Haha, if you want the ultimate in VIP get a Celsior......but im picking that if you need a loan to get a Windom then you may not be able to afford the fuel for it, let alone the cost of the car..

Why dont you just put a larger exhuast on your Mirage, an External rev counter, some 20" wheels and some stickers....that will make you go way fast

Aristo!!!!! If you want a 2J, go with them. They're awesome looking and some deep dish wheels look great on them.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

If by that you mean MKIII yes I agree, they have lots of character (sp?) and have beautiful curves. MKIV Supras however are ugly as sin. Should never have been made.

oH and let me just say for the record that Aristos are fk'n ugly aswell. :P

If you really want style with a bit of power and something that will pull all the bitches may I recommend you get a JZX100. You will definately not be dissapointed. 8)

and are also great for living out your David Hasselhoff in Knight Rider fantasies.....;)

I prefer the Jzx90......100 series is too boxy and tall IMO[/quote]

Honestly, if I was sinking myself into debt to buy I car I'd wanna buy something marginly interesting. There's nothing VIP about a Windom and there never will be no matter what you do to it, it's still a big FWD family/company hack. And if a Windom is the best car you can afford perhaps you're not in the best position to be looking at engine transplants, airbags and wheels. Not trying to insult, just being realistic.

Same mother, different father.

Similar mechanicals, heavier bulkier body. I'm with Warwick, run away from it.
