Wicked Steering Noise.

Postby Brevin » Wed May 03, 2006 5:06 pm

My Supra's making a wicked noise, almost like a grinding noise when i turn the wheel full lock. Checked the tie rods and steering arms and they're sweet. Filled it up with p/s fluid and it was still groaning.

Been sitting up on jacks untill now, turns out everything wasn't fixed since the f**ker stole it.

Could this be my powersteering pump or something along those lines? As i can't see any physical damage in regards to the steering.

Cars a Ga70 Supra.

It could be water in PS system, what colour is the fluid?

Sounds like your pump bearings are shot, chap. Not something you could deliberately do, just wear and tear..

P/S noise...

Postby jondee86 » Fri May 05, 2006 6:06 pm

This is a different noise to the noise of the relief valve opening when
the steering hits full lock on either side ?? Like, does it ONLY happen
when the steering hits the end stops ??

Cheers... jondee86
