MR2 Factory tint

Ive been told that the "AS2" engraved in my glass means it has a factory tint. Can anyone tell me what sort of level ti is so i can legaly tint my car?

Ummmm yes. Hence it being "AS2" glass, but i want to go darker. IE to 35%

Most glass found on modern vehicles are already tinted at the maximum and have the code AS1 (windscreens) & AS2 to indicate this? dunno if that helps

Why not bring it to a tinting place and get the glass measured?

Um its no where near 35%, its more like 90%. And andy, bit rude using their gear if your not going to use them to tint your car.

testing station measured mine when i got pink stickered. mabye try your local vtnz or on road

Chur, sounds like a plan. I just assumed as2 is a standard level of tint.

Get a quote while you are there, it might be so good that you can't refuse. Plus you are giving them a chance to get a potential customer.
