runing car without intercooler?

Ok,

i have the 3sgte gen3 in the car but ive taken off most the top mount intercooler setup as i cant use it without a modifyed bonnet and also the guy who i got the engine off damaged the tank that sits behind it on the passengers side, so can i start the car and have id ideling without a intercooler setup?

Are they map? if so, yeah you can, but will have no air filtering then, nor boost of corse.

me and a couple of mates took one for a testdrive once while looking for a paddock basher and it was a bundle of laughs. it was dripping oil onto the exhaust manifold and when we returned it after a quick drive there was smoke pissing out everywhere wasnt too bad for an 1800cc auto turbo but was still a heap of shit.

car wont run, there is fuel at the filter up the front but i dont think its geting into the engine.... not sure if the fuel pump is turning on! will have to take it out of the tank tomorrow and try turning the car over see if its sucking...

Why on earth would you wnat to do that when there is a far simpler test? Just disconnect the fuel line at the filter, have a suitable container at the ready (+ a fire extinguisher) and just turn the key. If the pump is working, the fuel will come out. Much easier than pulling the pump out at this stage.
If pump is working, then you know that there is a problem elsewhere.

yea wanted to find what color wires were there aswell to make sure they went to right place at ecu trying to make a diagram for the curren....

Usually it is Blue with White stripe (power for FP).. on the plug wich goes to fuel pump there should be 3-5 wires, one of them should be relatively fatter, and blue in color, this is the one to apply +12v, but only do that when Fuel pump test from diagonstics fail, to test fuel pump at diagnostics sort +B with FP, this should turn the fuel pump on when ignition is on. Or You could apply 12v staigh from battery to FP pin.

wired fuel pump to battery for test and car run fine will rewire the fuel pump into the 3sgte loom tonight

I'm not sure about gen3 but with gen1-2 there is fuel pump resistor, without that car will not run, it is usually located on the left front strut. It can be shorted with a piece of wire if you don't have it. This mod will make fuel pump go on "full" power all the time (like in most of the cars).

narh the fuel pump was to 3sfe spec wiring not 3sgte is fixed now! but i have a few extra wires to put in for the intercooler water pump nfi were they go yet lol other than that i think its basicly all done!
