Mr Revhead does it again!

Postby GT4 20 » Mon May 15, 2006 1:57 pm

Both front wheel bearings on the 4 are starting to show signs of wear so called the local Toyota Stealership for a quote on 2 kits. "Yes sir, we can supply kits for your GT-Four. NZ$360" Ouch, thought I, but still not too bad for 2 OEM bearing kits. "Err, that's per side sir" Well, I nearly dropped the phone and asked for reassurance that he wasn't joking. :?

Talk about extortion  Local autofactors wanted $NZ100 per side but weren't sure if it was a complete kit with new seals etc. So, I placed a call to Warwick (Mr Revhead) and 2 days later he calls me back with a price which is considerably lower :D

Overnight courier actually takes 3 days to arrive  , so need to wait until Wednesday to fit them now. Fortunately I have access to a fully kitted out workshop so should only take a couple of hours or so to do both sides.

I dont see what the problem is when Gary makes a thread to tell us that Mr goat lover is doing ALOT to help us, AND that hes doing some work to his fine fine automobile.

Yes. I agree. I see no problem with praising our hard working sponsors publicly when everyone else just wants your kidney...

did you disagree with me to put yourself in his good books? :P  8) my post wasn't directed as him doing work on his car, just that to everyone i don't see why it's needed to create a thread saying he got you parts. everyone knows he does.

Yes, everyone knows he gets you parts, but alot of people dont know that he cuts a damn good deal on those parts, or to what lengths he goes to get em for you.

So why why shouldnt anyone post about a great deal or excellent service that has been recieved from our sponsors or anyone for that matter? i mean should we only create posts about parts/suppliers/businesses when something bad happens? so that the only press they get is negative?

yep and then you can reply to that thread stating the opposite if you think differently. and the amount of threads saying he does good service, is that not enough to get the idea?

it's waste of database space. i know sure one thread isn't much but it all adds up in running a forum like this 8)

And your pointless reply isn't

Part of this post was to comment on the ridiculous standard Toyota price for GT4 wheel bearing kits. Even if I had gone aftermarket, I would still have made this post - just so happens that I managed to source the for a better price through Warwick. If you are unhappy with anyone supporting a TS major sponsor, then why don't you direct your complaints to Admin rather than posting here?

To keep with the general "warwick love" theme - he actually does do some bloody good deals, and where some people have put items into the "too hard" basket, he actually makes an effort.

Does toyota head office know what you're up to bud?

Hell if TNZ knew what he was doing when he should be working he would have been sacked years ago :P

On the front of the thread being created, why not, all too often we hear about xyz company shafted me or the fella down the road didn’t pay me for this, now days they guys n gals in the automotive industry who are giving good service over and over again all too often get over looked & we start to expect & take it for granted, and good service isn’t just about giving the best price at the end of the day sometimes its running around getting you info even when there is the possibility that no sale will come of it & I have seen Rev do that a number of times here & never been thanked for it, so what’s one thread in the bigger picture to take a minute or two to say thanks

Difference is the frame of mind in which it starts.. which is positive..

if we're going to get into 'waste of database space on a forum like this' then take a look into the off topic secton...

I bloody well hope not, i planned on sleeping this week..

And as for the toyota stealership comment, so true, as much as i like knowing that the part i buy will be the right part some of there pricing is obviously in Lira, not dollars.. i mean $23 for an o-ring.. gimme a break.

lol "Toyota stealership"
Seriously tho, if it wasn't for markup's none of us (or mabey only some) would have jobs.

Gary i take it you don't have a "trade account" with toyota or a longstanding cash agreement? Therefore you are only "Joe Blogs" and IMO not entitled to any type of discount.

Not slaging Warwick off as i have delt with him and he is a top bloke but everyone that works on the trade side of retail should know, no news is good news...
