You should probably concentrate on getting the flow around the stock valves better. Valve grind on the valve and seat and a good venturi before the seat will help more than just wacking bigger valves in. A good way to get more flow into the engine on stock valves is to use a faster ramp. This thrashes the valve train though as it has a much sharper jerk function.

Jerk "function" is derivative of acceleration over time (da/dt)

Sergei is correct

i.e you want to be able to represent the jerk function as a single smooth line, no points of infinity or instant changes in rate.
