Toyota vs Nissan Drag/Dyno Day.

Postby Silent Knight » Mon May 22, 2006 10:46 pm

Hi Guys,

Me and John have both been speaking about this and we would like to get some numbers from people that are actually interested before we make any final track bookings.

What we plan to do is organise over a weekend in October a Toyota vs Nissan Drag and Dyno. We will do Dyno one day and then Drags on the next.

On the Dyno there will be room for around 20 cars of which half will come from each manufacturer. We will be putting the most powerfull of each on there for the day so unfortunately not everyone will get a chance on the Dyno itself. There will also be prizes organised for the different events and event classes etc. Dyno will be run by Gavin and his team from High Velocity on the North Shore.

Drag day will be held at Meremere where we will need around 40 cars from each side to make it work. Classes has not been set out yet as we've still to book the track pending interest on both sides of the line.

We have not worked out the final costing for everything but we will release all of that info once a date is set and the track is booked.

If you guys are interested voice your interest now. But please only if you genuinely plan on coming. We don't want to know about 'if my car is ready' or 'if my car is on the road' etc. If you have a car and you are keen on an event like this then feel free to post here so we can see what sort of interest we are able to get from both sides.

Thank you,
Hanré

PS. This event will be held in Auckland for those that are unsure. Please refrain from asking dumb arsed questions.

Isn't the Velocity dyno just 2WD?

Yes the current is only 2WD. Which will mean unfortunately that the GTRs etc won't be able to have a run currently as there is no provisioning for it.

I am unsure however if Gavin may be thinking about upgrading at some point to be able to accomodate 4WD vehicles. John you might be able to shed some light on this as you deal with Gavin allot more than anyone else...?

Oooeeeerr :)

Toyota might have a shot at winning this one - depending on how the NA classes are laid out hehe.

I'll play drag racing.

That would be sweet, we need a min of 40 nissans to make it work.
