An equivalent product to the other 97.5 octane fuels currently on the market. Word on the bush telegraph is that it is coming to NZ(eventually). As usual, you pay a premium for better fuel and I'd imagine it'll be the same 5 or 6 cents as BP and Mobil charge.

They also have an even higher octane "Race" fuel...whether or not it actually makes it here is up in the air as it is even more expensive.

yeah optimax extreme (100 octane), got it over here in aussie, has 5% ethanol in it i believe , and with 91 going for around $1.14 here at the moment i dont feel so bad about running premium fuels

Yea herd the ad for it on the radio this morning, went something like

"If you fill up with Shell Ultra 91, or Ultra Hi 95, you COULD go further on each tank. Shells economy forumla cleans your engine, reducing friction, and this means smoother running and better economy."

So basicly, there is no magic fairy dust in it, just their own detergents.

Hehe, my brother started using the shell fuel to see if it made a difference. As he used it his car went out of tune, he needs an oil change and the spark plugs and air filter need replacing and funnily enough he got about 200kms less on a tank of gas.

errr, McD's is selling Diesel? if you mean running it on vege oil and kerosene(or whatever it is), then there is a little more to it than just filling it up with mcd's oil, and it's not overly cheap unless you value your time at nothing, and get the oil for free...

now I have a mate who does just that, his time is worth nothing, and his folks run a fish and chip shop... his Saab diesel turbo runs on it just fine(barring a few clogged injectors or whatever they're called in diesels for the first few tries), the smell is a bit odd though, it's like burned fish, so I wouldn't like everyone to be doing it, or the world would become a very stinky place...

he is working on the smell, he's trying it with adding things like "essencial oil" concentrates... raspberry makes a nice exhaust smell.
