Post by Beccyboo »

Hey,

Im looking for a company who will freight a bumper to Wellington and a spoiler to Kapiti!
I have never used one before and don't know where to start. Has anyone got a place that they have used and they recommend???

Cheers in advance :)

Mainfreight is normally overnight, failing that 2 days to get to aucks.

I've had some wicked quotes before, and other times I've been stung bigtime. Its more size they worry about than weight I've found. Just go depot:depot, saves you a bundle and gives you that happy feeling of knowing someones going to have to try and fit a bumper inside a car

The guy thats buying it said
"Easiest would be courier I reckon, just wrap it up in some bubble wrap and pop a courier inter-island sticker on it. Should be maybe 10 bucks or something?"

Then i asked what company would do that and he said
"NZ Couriers should be able to do it no problem, or CourierPost.
Alternatively, the Post Office can send it quite happily as a parcel..."

Is this correct??

Depends on the size of it, I think there's a 1.5m limit as to length.

I've always used McDowells, time and time again, they've proved to be significantly cheaper than anyone else, and they're pretty good at not breaking shit!

that would work, but they would want a lot more than 1 ticket, at over $20 each

if you know anyone with a PBT account i would pick them, i got 4 wheels from auckland, 2 with tyres, and it cost me $30. but they dont do cash jobs

mainfreight can be really cheap or really really expensive, so i never use them

true, although auck -> chch is like twice as far as wellington to chch..

just depends on the size of the bumper, the one i shipped was quite big aswell.. the original quote was $75, and that was for 0.2 cubic metres, but it obviously turned out to be a little bit bigger
