Spoiler plugs?

Postby Jazza » Mon May 29, 2006 9:57 pm

Where would i get those lil bungy/pluggy things to plug up a spoiler hole until i can get it coated over. Its just a temp job cos my spoilers clear coat decided to f*ck off. And what are they ACTUALLY called? Price guesstimate? Repco for em?

grommets. Hardware stores, repco etc etc. usually less than afew bucks each depending on size. in your case, less than $2 each at the right place.

Got mine from repco but have seen them at super cheap aswell.

How many holes do ya have to cover up? I had five of one size and one big one. But they only come in packs of four, so had to buy a whole pack just for one hole.

virtually none. They generally (but not always) come in ford's- any colour you want as long as its black.
If its just a temp while getting spoiler redone, shouldnt be that big an issue.

Get some touchup paint and paint the tops of them?

But really, if its a temp measure, as has already been said, leave them black and work on getting the spoiler fixed instead.

most are rubber (although you can get plastic) the paint wont stay on even when primed if people poke fingers on etc. If you are going to leave off, keep the boot holes filled and painted.

If you're going to leave it off, get the holes welded up instead of being rangy.

And make sure youve got another high stop light if yours is in your spoiler. Have mates with Evo`s that have taken their spoilers off and get pulled up for not having a high stop light.

Already got a new high stop light sorted. How much would it cost me to get the holes professionally covered? Guesstimates welcome. Its 5 holes.

You could get those boltless bolts (not sure on the name)

But you tighten them up and the top shears off so its a smooth surface, could plug them up with them.
