If you have any notion of onselling it, it's worth more with the pretty paint to most people.. Shame the bumper is not painted to match.

What year? How much was it? Any mech problems?

its an 83, cost $170

managed to make it from whangarei to auckland with no worries, but i think its leaking boost like a motherf*cker

So you bought another car that doesnt actually go?

At least I'm consistent, I spend lots of money on one car that doesnt go, rather than lots of money on lots that dont.

lol what you talkin bout - it runs fine :P

I saw that of trademe-a-g-ride.

I am envious. I wanted it, would have bought it had it been in chch. That paint is hella balla, and those wheels..... UHHH FUUUUUCCCCCCCK.

What does it need for wof?

Dont paint over that horrible, expensive paint.

for wof it would need new front and rear windscreens and some nice rust in the corners of the engine bay removed

however, i will probably just swap everything onto a normal city that has wof/reg as it sounds like less work

so unfortunately, i will probably not keep the paint. perhaps a nice pink on the new body 8)

it doesnt have an intercooler, im guessing that got taken off. theres now a bit of piping just sitting there, i think thats where the boost is leaking

F%$K yeah, thats an awesome machine.

For anyone who doesn't know it - here's my old one. It was running 20psi, had no exhaust (well, it was about 2 feet long, dumped straight downwards), had no intake (turbo = DOES work like an insinkerator!!) and legitimately was faster than my last VR4 when it was semi-stock. We raced them... I cried.

In the wet you could keep a wheel going to end of 4th, or kick the clutch in 3rd at 100kph and it would light up. The single most entertaining car I've ever owned - beating GTST's and the likes in it was absolutely priceless.

Its the car which has to be driven to be understood.

Favourite city memories:

- The legitimately involuntary loss of traction whenever it came on boost in the wet - or in 1st or 2nd in the dry 8) Good thing 12" tyres are cheap

- The fact it only had a 2000rpm powerband - came on boost about 4000, limited at 6000ish i think :?

- The way the DIGITAL speedo couldn't keep up with anything the car did - fang it to 100kph, start braking - while you're braking the numbers were still going up to 100, once you'd stopped again they were still coming down

- Having it up on two wheels on far far too many occasions - even just emergency braking would get the little sucker to try and roll over :?

NEVER underestimate the little turbo city... I'm quite serious when I say it beat my VR4. I think it was the "turbo VTEC" sticker I had on the door :D
