When I changed my intake cam gear, a bit of oil ran out of it as I had it sitting for a while before I actually changed it.

I want to know if this oil is meant to be for it or does the oil come from the camshaft and just fills up in there. Like do I need to put oil in it or does it do it itself?

Thanks guys

Yes it looked like engine oil. Thanks for that. I was just wondering this because when I hit hi revs I dont think it is sounding too healthy. But maybe this sound is just usual, I dont know
