To be honnest, most people will say its better to sell yours and buy a manual one. It has been covered before, but search can prove fruitless unless done properly...I cant be bothered pulling up old topics thismorning.
anyway, If you decided to go ahead with it
Gearbox, pedalbox, modify loom, shifter and linkages. Thats a start on the main parts. Parts wont be hard to get, but if you have to pay someone to do it, it will cost a little...

Best way to do it is take the price of your main parts and then double it.

You always forget the little parts like the pivot stud, thrust bearing, copper pipe, new flywheel bolts, flywheel machineing.

It just adds up.

yeah, its those little bits that you end up paying big bucks for too.

Could always buy a whole wreck and then sell the bits you dont need, that way you can see where everything goes and then works out free or cheap by the end of it

I recently helped a mate with his auto to manual conversion, I think it ended up costing $1000, thats with a new clutch, gearbox oil etc, was a AE-101 bz-touring. If you can get the parts cheap, like the gear box, as that was nearly half the cost of the conversion.

pretty much every thing bolts up you will need a different passanger side gear box mount (one from a manual) and few other little things, cut hole in fire wall you need right angle drill, PM DEMIS for more info. I have never seen a C56 go for $200 and if it did I would be a little concerned on the condition of it. As this happened when we did the coversion, bought a cheap gearbox and it was fuc!ked, it had to pulled out again and another one put back in agian. Might pay to get one from a wreaker with a waranty.

Im not 100%, but I was under the impression they will bolt up without issue, but the crossmember mounts may be different & perhaps starter? (although I thought they were on the same side for all 20v's)
