Fitting beside factory oil pressure sender 4A-GZE...

Postby peas » Sun Jun 18, 2006 4:37 pm

Just pulled all the ancillaries off the front of my GT-Z and saw a small banjo type fitting just to the passengers side of what I assume to be the factory oil pressure sender unit. Just wondering what the hell it is... in the process of locating a convenient oil feed for the TD05...

Ahh right yeah not a good move then... cheers for that... could be used as a coolant return though...?

Just been out this morning trying to get head around the coolant flow of the engine and wanted to know where the best place to tap the water feed and return for the turbo would be. I was looking perhaps taking it from the thermo housing and back to the block drain? Any ideas?

T into heater lines before heater valve, or T into throttle body coolant supply lines (not the best, as it could mess with your idle).

I run mine one each into the top and bottom radiator hoses.

That makes sense... I was after a pressure difference between where they are plumbed to ensuring flow and the radiator hoses would be the obvious one.

there is little flow in the radiator until thermostat opens. So top and bottom radiator hoses are not ideal for continous flow of coolant (unless thermostat is removed).

Does a turbo require the extra cooling when the engine is cold?

I would say only if you thrash your car when it's cold.
