Not really a part of this filter, but its aimed at the GT-T people...

Air filters. For the 3S-GTE, do they like their filters changed to something with more flow, or are they quite fussy?
As far as I know, the filter in my car is stock, or a similar replacement stock filter - Im guessing its one of those pink paper filters.
If I got a K&N panel, or simialr aftermarket panel filter, would the car run any better with the increased air flow, or would it not do jack shite.

I did CAI and Pod in my last car, and it made quite a bit of difference when climbing hills, seemed to have a bit more power. Not really looking at doing a CAI and Pod in the GT-T, as it looks a bit tight under the bonet, and dont really want to frig with it too much.

In general, do GT-Ts like the simple mods that other cars quite like, like CAI, Filter and Exhaust? Or do they pack a sad.

the best thing i have done is get rid of the cadilac convertor (spelling :oops: ) this made a noticable difference but not " wow shit 25hp" more. Cost about $250.

Replaced the pod filter i had an went back to standard with a simota panel filter $60.

Oh ok cool. Did the filter change make any difference?
Is the Cadilatic converter quite restrictive? There are high flow ones available (so ive heard), which may be options for if the emissions law gets changed, and all cars that had them from factory require them again.
Is it part of the exhaust manafold, or is it a seperate device a bit further down?

high flow cat's avaliable from the western isle of our nation, (aust) but while we don't need them, cut it out, take it to the scrap dealer, collect $30. (no shit)

my car has a stainless mesh pod filter, no cat, really noisey exhaust, never lined it up against a bog standard one.

on the vsc issue, has anyone managed successfull doughnuts with it off?

the cadilac is right of the turbo between the engine and radiator :evil: so its a mungrel to do. As for the air filter I prefere the standard air box over the pod i had. The simota filter, on paper, is the better way to go, but i cant prove it myself :? just run a cold air intake into the standard box from under the guard, works for me.
