Thats a really ugly car

Full 4wd uses a little more gas than you'd probably like

You could go to turners this saturday and walk away with something better for that price.

have to agree.
expensive and probably not so economical on tyres or gas because of 4WD.
...and its ugly.

Smaller engined 4WD's tend to feel like they have a tonne of bricks on a trailer too. They just aren't as responsive. Unless you had a 4G93/63 lying around you could do a bit better :P

I don't mind the shape of those... though they are fairly similar to a Civic so I will shut up now.

I'm a bit biased here, but I would say its a good buy.

It's a 1600cc 4G92 engine, they have a bit of power and are pretty reliable too. Just do the usual oil and filter changes and it'll be fine. The hydraulic lifters get a bit noisey at higher kms but if the oil was changed regularly it should be fine.

Driveline wise, it shares the gearbox and rear diff as a Lancer GSR which definitely isn't weak.

Watch out for roof rust on those models, the 91 to 97 Lancer/Mirage/Liberos were prone to rusting from the inside where the roof braces were bonded to the roof skin, caused by the glue reacting to moisture. It's more evident in the darker colours.

And Mr Revhead, my Mitsi which has done 407,000kms on its original engine has cost me less in repairs and costs less to run than my Corolla with only 1/3 of the amount of kms on the clock.

It's manual, as he said in his first post. Also, the picture of the interior clearly shows a manual gearstick.

Lol. GTXs have unreliable motors, glass gearboxes, in cars that were marketed at females. I'd rather have a mitsi 4wd, they're tough as nails.

$&#$% yeah id hit that. Ok its a bit nana as is. But imagine that with a 4g63 (or61 8) ) t in it. I dont know if your keen on doing it up. It would still make an ok daily. Its a 1600 ffs, its not going to use that much more gas than a fwd.

i dont know what the $&#$% i was thinking ...

1. there prety powerfull i would come pare them (in the short amount of time i did drive it to a GT starlet certainly picked up in 1st gear

2. It was $&#$%,

3. Its a mitsi some one slap me for even considering it....

Gearbox was pretty good, very responsive on the throttle, clutch was pretty $&#$%, tappets were tapping harder than a slut on k road
suspention was $&#$%,

didnt get too look at the roof,
but there prone to rust

there was a leak on top of the head gasket , now i dont know if that was just where some one had spilt oil or what, but it looked pretty fresh

what a pile of crap tho ....

i knocked the guy down to 3grand before i even went to look at it (mrs and i's budget) and really it was worth $1500 if that

Dude go to turners this saturday at penrose you'll be suprized how cheap the cars can go. Quality is mixed so you have to have a good look at the cars before hand.
