my mrs brother is a welder by trade and he checked the welds and all that. the manifold isnt that bad a quality.
Im heat wrapping it to keep the heat out of my engine bay.

Apparently it isn't the welds that are the problem, its the fact they use 2 different types of metal for tubing and flange, which heat and expand at different rates, and cause the cracking that everyone complains about.

Dude, I'm not trying to shit on your stuff! Far from it, I just don't want to see another XSpower victim.. :?

Most people who dont like CA's havent really had a good look or look at end power made.
If you look at the power per litre they arent much off SR and dont have trouble with top end.
I have heard lots of horror stories of SR20's, have seen a few with ventilated blocks and bent valves.

Im going to run it on stock tune for a few months. Then will get it a good tune for about 250hp RWHP.

Eventually gonna get a hard tune for around 320rwhp @ 18psi.

The CA is a lot more popular in the UK and Europe for some reason.+

Heat wrapped the manifold today, what a buggar to do.

DONE!!!

Postby Vickrin » Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:25 pm

Well the 180 is done and back on the road.

She is tuned and goes BLOODY WELL!!!!
Boost comes on strong from 2800 full boost at around 3600. (only 9 psi atm)
Been doing lots of spirited driving this week and i cant get enough of it.

I cant wait till its run in and can see what she can really do. im not revving it past 4500-5000rpm for the first few k but i can feel the turbo start really working past 4. Cant wait till i can hit 7000rpm!!!

31st of August, 6:30pm by Arbuckles. There's a thread with the same name in this forum with more details.

Would be cool if you got it there, but we all want to see your new beast! :D
