Do my eyes deceive me?

Postby Adamal » Mon Jun 26, 2006 8:27 am

I went to fill up with 95 the other day and it was down to $1.709 from $1.1759!

Is this a temp thing or has it dropped for good reason?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Yeah same I went to fill up and noticed the price drop but didn't hear anything about it. I reckon they dropped it by 5c so we go sweet then next week they'll raise it by 10c

I heard they had found a new oil reserve 3 times bigger then iraq in Canada. Not sure if its ture but i guess that could might be a reason.

Tomo1985, thats' the oil sands in Canada. Has been around for a very, very long time, but extracting oil from it is much more time and cost prohibitive, when compared to normal drilling.

And yes, the government said a couple of weeks back, that thanks to new oil discoveries, and the oil rigs damaged in the Hurricanes beginning to come back online, the price of a barrel had dropped to less than $US68, and is only forecast to come down, with petrol dropping supposedly 14c a litre by early next year.

But then again, knowing our government, someone will drop an egg fart in an oil rig somewhere off the coast of Mexico, and petrol prices here will shoot back up!
