Turbo oil and water plumbing...

Postby peas » Wed Jun 28, 2006 9:32 pm

Wondering if anyone has any contacts in West Auckland that could help me out with the oil feed and drain lines as well as the coolant piping. I have factory Evo 4 lines on the turbo so have the type of fittings that I need but just need to get some piping made up to suit my application (4A-GTE) I was told not to use rubber for the oil and coolant lines...

Or just head into Enzed in New Lynn?

Ohh and also flanges for an Evo 4 downpipe... got the gasket to use as a template.

I use a copper drain with rubber couplings and rubber stainless braided oil feed and oil filter relocator. I was going to use copper, and tried, but it was to fustrating doing it by myself. You can buy copper pipe bendeds cheap but they only do one size each. Fittings can be bought from mitre 10, dont forget teflon tape. I would go full custom, no point trying to adapt evo lines to your car, it will be a PITA. Failing that go talk to green lane speed shop, all they do is automotive oil fittings, pipe, etc.

Sweet... Im pretty sure that I can get that through work... might invest in a cheap pipe bender too then and just get someone who knows what they are doing to fit banjo fittings etc...

When it comes to tapping the oil feed from the factory sender has anyone relocated the sender? I got my hands on a N/a 4A-GE P/steering pump and bracket that is much more compact than the massive casting that I removed but there doesnt seem to be much room behind it still? :?

Hey dude I just relocated the oil filter and took the oil from there. Relocator would probably cost around $240 for everything. Then an extra $100 for everthing to feed the turbo. Might need a restrictor inline with the turbo feed.

Yeah I already have purchased the remote oil filter adaptors... you reckon jsut take it out of one of the lines on the way back from the filter... Its just as close (closer really) than the oil press. sender. Just T-junction it? I got a approx 2mm hole in the factory Evo banjo fitting so I assume that this woudl be about right for the feed restrictor.
