How to get steering wheel off? (AE82)

Postby MINTFX » Sun Jul 02, 2006 2:30 pm

I recently got given a Momo steering wheel + boss kit for my AE82 gt and I cant seem to get my stock steering wheel off. Either its never been taken off and its pretty tight or theres something im missing. Ive taken off the main big bolt and the plastic cover but still cant work it off. Anyone ever done it before? Must be a nack to it.

you can buy a puller, or just be a tough guy and rip it off.

if your gonna rip it off put your seat right down so when it shoots off in your hands you dont break your nose.

Yeah, pretty much pull harder.

Or pull on it and get someone to bash the centre with a hammer to try and shock it free. Or buy a puller.

Put the nut back on a couple of turns (this will stop it flying back and hitting you in the face), and give it a whack with a rubber mallet while pulling at the same time (2 person job maybe)
