Better titles under names

Ahem.. it was rapist.

All seriousness aside..

I think the idea is flawed, buying a custom title takes the *specialness* away from the people that have earned them.

Imagine if I had "Knows what he's talking about" underneath my name!

It would be bullshit :?

Well... :? I try. I thought it a way to make a little money for the club. If ya wanna find flaws go for it. Nobody is perfect especially me.

I have a special name, and it was earned for being one of the people that help make this place and I'm not at all worried about people having a special title under their name if it's going to help the club financially. In the past there has been a couple of people put their own money up to run this place but that doesn't happen now. So we need to make money and I feel that this is a fun way to do it.

I would hope that the people who are keen for this have the ability to come up with a title/status that reflects them and not just a nonsense one.

Names like ‘Toyspeed founding member’, ‘TS Legend’, Moderator, Admin, Founder blah blah of course can't be bought. This is for fun... not to be bashed to bits. Can we have some fun now please ... pretty please? I just wanna see something happen with out the normal barrage of 'this sucks', 'this won't work because…', 'you suck for suggesting it' and 'nobody will ever like it'
*sigh* so many nay-sayers

Anyway, at least one person is keen by the looks of it... yay for them I say :D

If you want to make money for the club.... Auction off a night with Warwick !!!

Anyway, at least one person is keen by the looks of it... yay for them I say :D

I don't mean to be a nay sayer, just pointing out that selling a privilege is usually a morally/ethically bad thing to do. You can be special cos you have $$$$$ where as poor people like me have to beg for food and use newspaper to keep myself warm at night... it's a travesty.

Usually you're the "Equal Rights" person aren't ya?

I know this is supposed to be a little fun.. a "frolic", so to speak.. still has very real implications for the Ethiopian children.

Yes I think you're right Mr Revhead... poor darling. He seems to have forgotten Toyspeed is run by the tyrants of moderation and not a democracy.

Ah well, equal rights, Ethiopian Children and all that political stuff... this is about money, TS needs the funds and if someone wants to pay for the 'privilege' I say let them. The reserve is low and afordable I thought "Show me the money...." all right ... giggity giggity... 8)

*hands Chickenman a crust of bread and sits him with the African children*

Note: I am off work today sick and may be delirious so if you are so totally offended by the Auction or anything I say today you can get over it as the ill are entitled to their delirious ranting. Oh and just make a "donation" of your choice to the Toyspeed account instead of getting a 'special' title/status. I'm sure that will be an acceptable form of support to keep the place going. Oh and while I'm going on a bit. I recommend that you do not exceed the daily does of Sudafed... makes the world a very odd place to be. *nods* Yes, yes it does indeed.

ooo you have too, thank you. This is gonna be fun to watch! Fingers crossed it doesn't get too out of hand though or it might be priced out of the market for the financially embarrassed among us.

Do you think there should be a clause in there saying titles may be moderated and that you arent garrentee'd your 'title' as it may be classed as offensive etc?

Read the fine print

The fine print - please read before you bid
Please note that all funds raised will directly benefit the Toyspeed account and not any one person from Toyspeed. You must also note that your choice of name can not be offensive or go against any of the Toyspeed rules and regulations. Even with your 'special' title you will not be exempt from disciplinary action if your behaviour falls into the misconduct category. All funds raised will go to Toyspeed (except for success fee of this auction) and each title/status change you request will incur a fee unless you are going back to the standard formatted title/status list.

And most of all this is here for fun and to raise funds for our club, this is not a right and the offer may be removed at any time with out reason as the Administration see fit (or when Toyspeed wins lotto - yeah right!)

But in the auction?

I hadnt seen the fine print due to there being 5 pages of posts. I read part of page 1 the other day, and now the last few posts. Didnt come across any fine print. lol. So other people may not see it also. It should really be stated in the auction that there is fine print somewhere.
