Fiat Uno engine transplant Idea

Postby ollieboy » Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:34 am

Ok, I've got a paddock racer Fiat Uno that I've been thrashing for ages but its not dying. Anyway, I decided to take it on a friends rally type track to kill it and I was going along the track incredibly fast, I went through this set of esses and the car handled really well. I then stopped trying to kill it and had a thought.

Does anyone have any ideas for an engine transplant into a Fiat Uno, I'm tossing up whether it would be worth it for a rally car, its just a thought though so I'm not getting too excited. I can't use the current engine cause its got a blown head gasket and is too much trouble to replace.

If theres a decent engine anyone knows of it will be good. If I can find one I might put a cage on the car and turn it into a rally car.

Fiat Croma 2l engine.

Or a Lancia Delta 1.6 maybe, plenty of those rusted to oblivion. Stick it on twin sidedrafts (manifolds for Fiat twincams aren't that expensive).

This sounds good because then I stay in the 1.6 class for racing.
