Volume of Paint for ae86

im looking at buying soem paint to get my ae86 painted. basically need to know how many litres i will need to cover it for say the top coat (not the undercoat). needs to be painted inside and out and the engine bay.
assuming il use a lacquer.. colour plus thinner. how much colour do you think i would need.

Try PMing Xyrath 86 off these forum's, he's painted his car a couple of times using Laquer and should know how much you will need.

I used 4ltrs lacquer+thinner for just the outside, I think it was 6 coats or somthing (which I heard is a bit excessive?). Not really sure how much to do the whole car tho.

by inside and out + engine bay, do you just mean door surround etc, or under the carpet etc?
If just the door surround + outside ans engine bay in lacquer I'd be getting about 5L. 6L would be better - nothing worse to get not quite enough, then be unhappy with a slightly different shade (even the same colour can be different depending on batch production). If all inside where carpets would be then get about 8L.
It would also depend on the colour and depth you wish to get.

Im assuming you do have it primed yes? as depending on the paint under, it could react if you dont.

it will be primed first.
baiscally need to paint the entire car (except the underneath) (there is no carpet, no interior etc)

i had been thinking 4l for the outside and 4l for the inside+engine bay.. so from ur info this seems about right. thanks.
