Fixed My Manifold Problem!

what cracks me up is how most people seem to think a manifold which has a 90 degree bend a couple of inches off the head is "the shiz". They flow like crap, cant beat having a good length of straight pipe straight off the head.

yeah, but you are limited in a front wheel drive where there is limited space.

yes and no, if you think outside the square and dont do the same type of design as you see on MOST peoples car you can get it to fit.

the problem is trying to make them straight is you wont have your length. I think the length is more important that trying to avoid 90 deg bends.
Some people still think having short manifolds will make ur turbo spool better etc, yes it does but long runners gives you alot more mid to top end power by a considerable amount I have found.

I have worked with turbo'd rotarys for a long time and people in those circles used to think that having short runners gave you better repsonce.
A set of longer equal length pipes before the turbo, gives better throttle responce and as you say, more midrange & topend power. Its about having EVEN more constant pressure at the turbo
