Ok, so I had a paddock racer/parts car/possible rally car that got stolen about a week or two ago. Originally the plan was to strip it down, take parts off that I need now for my race car, do an engine transplant, cage it up and eventually have it as a rally car, it handled amazingly on gravel.

I thought it would turn up and be fine, well I found it yesterday and it wasn't fine. heres the results:

Not one panel remains undented, no glass remains intact, the dashboard is smashed, the steering wheel broken, the head has chunks missing from it, the carb is smashed. Nothing is salvageable off it. It had powerbass component speakers in that were less than six months old, the headunit is completely destroyed. But something I found funny: They stole the battery which is fine with me, I only put it in for paddock racing, it hadn't had charge in it for over a year and was completely rooted, I was going to have to dispose of it myself but they solved the problem.

The worst part of it all though is that I had no insurance, the car was de-registered and sitting in the backyard ready for it to be stripped down. I lost feckloads of money on this.

Those pictures were taken where I towed it to outside my house. I found the car myself in a riverbed, the police weren't interested because it had been de-registered.

Look around online video sites like Google Video or YouTube.com. You may be lucky to find that they filmed the car getting smashed up, but realistically the likelihood of that is very slim.

Watched a vid a while ago that was either in NZ or the USA where they totally smashed up a car. Then another one in a forest or something in Australia where they were smashing up an 80's Ford Falcon, and destroying young trees etc by driving over them.

Really sucks to hear that and see the aftermath though. :( How did they get the car from your backyard?

Wasn't it you who posted that thread a few weeks back about those dickheads giving you shit on your bikes? Or do you have a pretty good idea who took it? Darfield isn't that big a place!

Nah those people were from out of town and they were arrested for what they did, if they are ever caught in Darfield they are going to get some severe punishment according to the policeman.

And it was stolen from the backyard while noone was home. It could have possibly being a "friend" but its hard to say.

Edit: I actually have a sneaking suspicion who it may have been but I have no evidence at all except theres 4wd bullbar size dents in the car and I know someone who lives about a km away from where the car was found with a 4wd and he has something against me for some reason(i'm not sure what he just doesn't like me)

Bro, it's only a series one Uno, you can pick them up for cheap as chips :)

I know a couple of wreckers who will probably damn nearly give me a body if you that desperate for one.

I had an Uno 45, til i got bored and turbo-ed it :)

It does seem to be rather personal. I dont think you're everyday crim would take to a car (esp a fiat uno) with that kind of unbridled aggression...go all csi and look for tyre tracks etc

Yeah but its what was inside the vehicle as well, the stereo was rather expensive and its the principle of the thing. People shouldn't just go round stealing peoples cars and destroying them. Even though it is just an "Uno" if it was yours and it was stolen you would be a bit pissed off as well. The bodywork was in perfect condition before it was stolen, not a dent, and there was no rust, thats why I wanted to turn it into a rally car. Sure I could pick one up for cheap but I doubt it would be anywhere near the condition this one was. FFS, rant over.

:? im not quite sure what you mean by this? so its ok to steal and destroy someone elses property if its cheap? how does that work? these bastards came onto HIS property without permission, stole HIS car, and then proceeded to completely wreck it. oh but its ok cause those are cheap? the value of the car isnt the point. if i came round, stole your cheapest car, dumped it in a riverbed and smashed the hell out of it, perhaps your point of view would be slightly different

the instant ANY kind of theft/vandalism/crime becomes ok, we might as well just hand the country over to the $&#$% hoodrats, cause thats where it would be headed
