AE92 FXGT suspension upgrade/wheel alignment settings

Postby Crampy » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:02 pm

Hi all.

I've got got some new suspension bits for my AE92 FXGT. Got Jamex springs and KYB shocks, a one piece front strut brace and an adjustable Whiteline rear swaybar.

How do I adjust the camber up the front? It doesn't have an adjustment on the top bolt like my AE82 FXGT had.
Any suggestions on wheel alignment settings too?
I've seen in an old Hot Fours of mine, an AE82 Corolla got aetup as follows:
Rear camber: -1 degrees
Rear toe: 1mm toe out both sides
Front camber: -1.25 degrees
Front toe: 1.5mm toe out both sides
Caster: 4 degrees postive

Apparently the toe out helps with turn in.

What setting are others using? I'm looking to go for somethine tried and true.

Drill the holes out on the strut to get a bit more camber adjustment.
Toe out is good and negative camber is good, but it eats tyres and is no good for straight stuff (drag racing).
You should be able to get a little over -2 degrees at the front and about -1.5 at the rear.

Na, but thats the thing.
there is no adjustment at all on the front. My S/C AW11 had it and my AE82 GT Hatch had it, but my FXGT now doesn't. What's with that?

Replace the standard top hub bolt with an eccentric one. You may need to enlarge one or both sides of the top bolt hole to get this bolt to fit.

Oh sweet.
I was thinking I could even swap my hubs with some AE82 ones I have lying around. They have the adjustable top hub bolt my AE92 is lacking.

I'm guessing it'll all bolt up[ easy as???

Measure everything twice to see if the hubs are interchangeable. I've just tried to change the front hubs on my EE90 Corolla with the front hubs from an AE100 and AE111 Corolla. I found they looked identical at first, but when I tried fitting them there were small differences that make the hubs incompatible.
