1984 ke70 fuse box

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Sat Aug 05, 2006 9:22 pm

im having a bit of trouble getting a ke70 to turn over from the key; if I short the starter motor wire out it'll crank over fine but theres no power at the key.

is the starter likely to run through a relay which could be stuffed? i've checked all the fuses over the whole car and they are all OK. if it runs through a relay where would this be located? there is a "MAIN" relay in the fuse box in the engine bay; what does this control?

also, on the inside of the fuse box lid there are a couple of diagrams with a heap of numbers on them. they're basically squares which corespond with the wires coming into and out of the fuse box; and the squares have numbers inside them. i cannot work out what these numbers relate to...

anyone provide any information for this?????

cheers.

nope, nothing at all. the relays which are part of the 4AGE ecu click (not sure if they're coming on or off; more likely off I think).

but nothing to do with the starter motor / ke70 wiring clicks when I turn the key to start. the ke70 has had a 4age put in, but the engine wiring shouldnt effect the starter motor circuit at all should it? unless someone has messed around with it and completely f**ked something up.

there are a couple of loose plugs sitting around the engine bay but theres nothing to plug them in to. im just trying to check all the wiring and connections between the key and starter motor and knowing what these numbers mean will probably help me do this.

got it sorted; just had to connect two terminals off one of the random plugs sitting in the engine bay and it turns over from the key. the rest of the wires are for sensors on the old engine so that side of the plug must have been discarded with the engine. :x
