What should i do with my 94 corona?

Postby dazza_130 » Mon Aug 07, 2006 6:44 pm

i have a 94 corona 2 litre manual and have aquired (for 2 boxes of piss) a td02-12g and have a friend who wields stainless for a job and will make the exhaust manifold and plumb the intake as i assume these are not available cheaply for a 3s-fe but i was wonderin if internals or forged pistons etc are available for this engine and if and had any advice for this?

I dont know alot about toyotas but goin by what I know about engines in general sell the turbo you have and buy the factory turbo engine, ecu, manifold etc etc (3S-GTE) and put that in, will save alot of pissing around and mayb money too?

Would be a wicked sleeper with a turbo on it, dads got one and in a straight line I beat a vtec civic (go me 8) lol), s14 silvia, 4age link plus powered dx and few others (yeh! street racing!), they quickish allready so the better head and turbo would be cool - do it do it do it

TD02 sounds like a SMALL turbo. 4G93T's run TD04 and EVO's run TD05's
So i'm picking a TD02 would be off a 1.3????? or possibly a 4G61T???

Didnt read the turbo code numbers but yeah your right strx7 they are small as, wouldnt add alot to a 2L but I guess it would spool super fast so 0 - little lag, then again in a fwd lag can be your friend when your leaving the line and dont want to leave half your tyres behind... If you want boost Id def go with the total engin conversion, sell th TD02 to someone with a 4k or similar I think you would be wasting your time for the money you would be putting into it

I'm with crnkin, do it. 5psi would give it a nice hurry up.

Will be fun.
Even if it does blow up, no big loss, and you could sell the turbo/manifold.

About the turbo yea there was a small typo its a td05-12g and its a standard mitsi turbo off vr4s starions and maybe early evos as far as i know would easily run more boost than the engine could handle. this change anything?

Take that back mother $&#$%!! 4g61t's run td04's

Vr4 (twin turbo's run two of those wee td02's i think. Do a rangi turbo mod job on your corona, it will be a laugh.
