oh yea! thats why i dont go to mechanics!

Postby Pies » Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:36 pm

got the rola back from the mechanics today to find out... i have a 5mm hole in my gearbox and no trans oil at all. its missing a rear gearbox mount bolt and the other 3 mounts are screwed (after replacing them not so long ago) because of said gearbox mount.

so im a tad $&#$% off now. the wanker who sold me the car obviously knew about it when he sold it to me since i havent touched or done any damage to the gearbox since owning it. all ive touched is the motor and 2 front engine mounts.

curious.

When I discovered a hole in my gearbox, it turned out a bearing had dis-intergrated, flooding the inside of the box with shrapnel, including thre bit that eventually punched it's way out of the box.

Aside from the whining, it still drove fine tho (even with 10mm play in the now un-supported end of the shaft).

If it ain't whining, plug the hole with selley's knead it or some-such, fill it with oil, and sell it to the previously mentioned hutt hoodrat.
