Yeah I saw that, WTF why would this guy do that. Rather uneccisary! Still in some wasys very interesting if he withdrew it that fast obviously theres a problem that he knows something about this whole story, other wise like deaf_rattle said he would have disputed it.. :roll:

I built this car
We have spoken to Joe, the owner of the white fxgt, hes also a victim as he bought a very ruff red GTi shell and spent money and time building this car that was on trademe.
its all in the polices hands.

see joe we havnt been part of this gossip on this site, we have just been sitting back watching just like the police told us too, all of the questions on trademe would have been from members of this forum trying to get info.

police are dealing with it,
bought the shell missing wheels, intercooler and wastegate off the side of the road up on the coast.
Joes just as upset as we are, as he put money into this car and didnt know it was stolen. Hes in contact with the police now.
please dont give him anymore crap.

good to hear it's getting sorted man, dont you wish you could have that motor back

surely though, if he brought it off the side of the road missing a few bits, but had that good of an engine in it what the amount of custom work in it, surely you'd think what the f*ck is up, somethings not right

very odd but i guess it doesn't matter now

Surely insurance must have paid out when it got flogged.. meaning any recovered goods belong to the insurance company?

Highly modified car, may well have been unable to get insurance. Can be hard enough getting a standardish car insured.

Interesting, did the very ruff Gti shell have its chasis numbers and tags? Unless the theives were really thick you'd think they would remove them.. If they didn't it would've only cost $25 to be sure he was getting an honest deal, if they were removed alarm bells should've been ringing in his head. There's a reason its a crime to receive stolen goods even if you don't know, aware buyers can catch out theives.
