Sitting FULL licence in New Plymouth

Postby riddles » Wed Aug 09, 2006 11:53 pm

Hey all
Just wanting any info on sitting a full licence in New Plymouth. The wife and I are planning and sitting ours up there (after wayyyy too many years on a restricted) and we have no clue about where any possible routes are.
Any tips or help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

I passed mine in Meadowlands in Auckland and the guy was reknowned for failing people... Just follow your road rules, watch your speed and you shouldnt have any problems...

P.S - If i can do it, anyone can

Just remember the basics, one thing i learnt was when turning into like roads or culdesacs etc your not supposed to cross over the soild white line, they paint the lines around turns with a gap between them. Drive between the gaps, Pretend the solid white lines are solid vertical white walls.

new ply is pretty easy to sit a test in.
hell i had to do my u turn on a 35kmhr road in the middle of nowhere, and the roads are never that busy (5min rush hour)

just make sure if the sign says STOP, then stop!

When I did mine a few years ago I had to do a u turn.

They made me do it on a main road, 100km/h area, 8:30 am with busy traffic.

I should have refused to do it. No sane person would do a U turn on this road in peak traffic, it was really dangerous. There are plenty of side roads to turn into to turn around and a round about not far away to do a u turn at.

My gf was also made to do a U turn on a very similar road. She was there for 5 mins till there was a gap in traffic... but what can you do? say no and not get your licence?
