use the bonnet off the 28 til you get it running. 23/28 bonnets are few and far between, i know of a couple of rough 22 bonnets that could be repaired but they wouldn't fit anyway.

Tarry might know of one, i'll give him a call and get back to you.

cheers

Hey guys.

Sorry man, No idea of a spare bonnet. As Mat says, rare as. I'll keep an eye out though, sometimes these things can just come out of no-where!

Mat, how the hell are you mate?? I emailed you a couple times but to no avail. Guessed you were sailing the deep blue somewhere out there.

What you been up to?? Any progress on the RA??

We should definitely try connect with Mr.P sometime and have a look at his ride! OK with you Mr.P??? I'll bring my RA28 for you to see.

Yea id be keen to catch up some time, but the 23 will be in nelson till Christmass some time, and the 28 will be with me in a couple of week. Hope to have the 28 going by Christmas, will use stuff ive got from my 23 to get it sorted. And its the other way around, might need to use my not so nice bonnet from the 23 on the 28 till i find another one. Looks like the 28's one might have gone missing in a house move :(. lol worse case is i paint them both the same colors :P

just bought a nana 93 corona for a daily (and so i can rep toyspeed :D )so i can avoid spending money on it and put it into the 23. i've got an 81 EX lancer with a 2 litre turbo conversion that i'm going to cert and sell, should be most of the coin for the diff conversion and some change towards the wheels there hopefully.

i actually asked Marcus to talk to you about selling your coupe to me as a daily (when he told me he was giving you the 28) but i need something that i don't need to do anything to (distractions are expensive, the lancer was only meant to be a cheap daily til i blew a head gasket and it turned into a turbo conversion) so i'll stay with the corona for now.

almost bought another RA28 from down south (blue one that was on trademe 6 months back) but i can't really afford it unless the 23 is going to sit in the garage for another year.

cheers

Was the 28 you were going to buy one with hub caps and an 18r that needed to go? or a restored one that went for like 10g. If it was the first you didnt miss out on a lot, i had a look at the first one about a year be for it was on trade me when it was still going and there was $1000s to be spent on the body if it was going to last more than even a few wofs.

Yea my 23 still requires a few more $1000s in parts before she will move, im after a gt3071r for it but the coin might go to a tig welder that would be good to do the custom work with, Arr well ill just have to give it more time a.

it was the one that didn't go for 10K, its still there afaik. he sent me a bunch of pics and its not perfect but its the tidiest i've ever seen in NZ beside Tarry's (and mikes TA27 if we're talking about all hatches).

i still want it, can't justify another celica though :(

cheers

Heh - this would eb a good thing for you guys to set up

Im oZ here im a member of 3 Celica/toyota clubs that pretty much started their basis on Classic celicas ( 70 - 77 )

I owned a '71 up until recently myself - and can vouch at how much fun they can be.

Over here - the Classic celicas are still going strong - more and more are coming out of sheds and worshops after big dollar rebuilds and restorations - some ultra fine show class examples also peek out now and then !

Own a Gt4 Atm - but i still miss driving my little red beast !
