The autosparky would be right. You sure its not just a broken or disconnected wire somewhee around there?

if its a conversion then whoever did it probably could find where to connect the wires at the fuse box so just didnt worry bout it . we are having this trouble with mine at the mo and may end up just running new wires to the reverse lights 8)

reverse lights arent a warrantable item, unless you have one gong, one not (can be mistaken for indicators or something)

yeah the cars been certed since before i got it. i was reading the WOF handbook thingy as found in the FAQ section and it says they should be in good condition. i consider good condition to be working, the WOF man likes it so im happy... pity he didnt like my quick release bumper or the fact that u need to hold the bonnet catch up with a stone to get it to lock properly.

sorry to bring this back up and take it a lil off topic but, i have replace my ecu with a link (reverse lights go to ecu right or have i found the speedo sender?) and was wondering, where the other end of the connection is (where I hook the 2 wires up to make my resverse lights switch on)

the reverse light sw on just about all manual FWD toyota's,

Is a white 2 pin plug with two red wires with a (possibly blue) trace colour thru them.

And they do not go to the ecu.
One comes straight fom the fuse box,
the other goes down the back to the lights.

Figured it didnt, must be the interior part I was looking at ....

... so i'll just match those 2 wires on the cabin plugs and it should work :D

cheers,

Man iI seem like a retard, thanks to those that put up with me :? 8)
