D1NZ TV @TV3 this sunday 13/Aug 5pm, check out our latest TV

Postby D1NZ » Sat Aug 12, 2006 11:13 pm

D1NZ TV has all the latest action from 2006 D1NZ Nation Drifting Championship. Watch the drifters battle it out to determine who will be closer to becoming the 2006 NZ Drift King. Witness the drivers fight in a one on one battle through the D1NZ judged section, each trying to out do the other with more speed, more angle and more smoke. Drifting is the combination of many forms of traditional motorsport where the cars and drivers are pushed to the limit. Drivers are judged on their skill and performance - the best drift wins. Don’t miss this opportunity to watch Dan "Fanga" Woolhouse, Gary "Gaz" Whiter, Sean Falconer and Dayna "Fury" Jury and the other D1NZ competitors drifting bumper to bumper for 1st place. For more details check out www.d1nz.com

I'm not a huge fan of the show but their production quality is pretty good really.

Actually I take that back. The last time I watched that show I thought the editing and camera work was pretty good. Now... it really is pretty rubbish. I did not like the editing, it was really choppy and all over the place.

Pfft, you people are too fussy. I liked coverage of it and the Japanese drifting. From what i've seen so far over the past few months, NZer's are definately the best drifters in the world after Japan.

You's should at least be glad it is getting TV coverage at all is what i say. :|

I guess this is where we disagree... some of the panning shots were not keeping up with the cars enough, not really that smooth. The editing was quite jarring, didn't have a proper flow going on. Also there was little attempt to correct the cameras for the changing light conditions, and some quite blatant use of auto focus and auto iris settings. Overall didn't seem really professional and refined...

Which was in stark contrast to an episode I saw probably about a month ago. It really looked like a good quality final broadcast product. I don't know why there is such a difference in production values between these episodes, but it certainly was noticable.

Of course each to their own about the presenter, but I just wanted to stuff a sweat soaked sock down his throat.

I like watching any drifting, a bit of entertainment at the end of the day.

NZ tv is usually pretty average anyway, have you guys watched Shortland Street lately? Or do ya remember Marlin Bay.
I'm just glad that there is kiwi motorsport (I use the word loosely) on TV.

But..... .....Home and Away FTW.

well, you could go watch the v8's on tv1 if you don't like.
i think the production quality has come a long way and was really good.

everyone knows that general toyspeed doesn't trecognise drifting. Always been that way... sooner or later though ts will be assimilated by the borg.

Toyota doing any kind of motorsport is great.

Just a stab in the dark here but i am guessing that was all done on handy cameras.

Didnt actually see it but i can guess that was the case.

Dragger_Dan: maybe you should get out there and capture some footage and compare.. i would be keen to. :) havent been filming in a while :o
