Would new diff oil make a difference.

Postby ollieboy » Sun Aug 27, 2006 8:09 pm

Today I replaced my diff oil because I had an incident with a river and there could have been water in the oil.

But what I'm asking is: Would it cause the power to the back wheels to be changed?

Reason I ask is because I was paddock racing yesterday and did this mad drift zomg corner and I handled it really well, power sort of got lost as I straightened up. Today after chaging diff oil I went paddock racing again and did exactly the same corner only this time the power kept on going as I straightened up which caused me to lose control. The car acted like it had never acted before.

Is this possible it would have been due to new oil that it would make the diff behave differently?

Does it have an LSD? Viscous LSD's will really react to having new oil in it if the other stuff is really old.
I think its around every 30-50,000k's. I've seen a BMI video where some chap from Honda said to change gearbox oil everytime you do the engine oil

Its just a single spinner :(

I just can't work it out, I had been driving that corner for a few hours yesterday and then had to drive it a completely different way today.
