4agze in a ae82 - problems

cars running a turbo setup, map sensor ecu and loom.

starts ok , will rev up at very light throttle, but if say over 20% throttle is used, it just cuts out, then goes again when under 20% throttle.

knock sensor is bung, could this be doing it?

any other ideas

Are you running a turbo map sensor (2 bar)

A single bar map will do this, go 5V when 1 bar abs pressure. Need a map that'll go to 2bar.

Other than that the usual fuel pump working, fuel pump relay, fpr, injectors etc

This is like the 3rd thread ive read with people experiancing the same problem when repowering with 4agzes, idle but cutting out above 2-3 k. Is there something that everyone is missing or what?

you need to check for spark and injector pulse when it dies, if it has both then check fuel pressure, then take it from there. Have you had this prob only since youve done the conversion or has it been turboed for a while and just started playing up?

injectors still fire when it cuts. its spark. i had a look at the map sensor, and it says ' turbo boost sensor' on it so guessing its 2bar?.

the engine can rev out to 5000 , just anything over 20% throttle and itll cut until its brought below that amount, spit flames and go again.

its just happend since the conversion started.

brendan from niteparts/a1turbos wired it up but cant get hold of him to sort it.
