speed up from a good 50 to about 60ish? knew sum1 would pull me up on it though  eg i speed up a little to put a gap between me and him, and to see if maybe he was happier sitting nearer 60 than 50? so much adding to the crap driving going on :?

Exchange pleasantries with other motorists verbally
Showing demonstrations of skill by swerving front of other motorists, showing ability to judge small clearances.

General Holden/ford gets my vote. As soon as i put the mags on my car, alot of older men (40-50) in their holden/ford would make a big effort to dangerously pass me on inside lanes of roundabouts, floor it at the lights to prove their dominace etc.

Yup, they're morons. They seem to think it's some kinda victory that their 6 litre V8 can pass my 1.6 4 cylinder Toyota. Then they proceed to weave through traffic just about causing head-ons just so they can get to some meaningless destination 20 seconds before everyone else. These are the same pricks who can launch it at traffic lights, pull skids in town and cops don't even bat an eye lid.

Also, the ones who drive the cruddy 80's/early 90's holden/ford and are decked out head-to-toe in their respective brand's clothing. Usually with an overweight wife with badly bleached hair in the passenger seat and a gaggle of 12-fingered children in the back seat all dressed the same. They drive round like they're kings of the road, ignoring every road rule - presumably because they couldn't read the road code in the first place.

Subaru drivers can be pretty wanky too, especially Legacys. They're always so aggressive and angry looking and give you the look like "if you don't get outa my way I'll ram you off the road and kick the crap outa you."

Inattentive and indecisive people in general piss me off, people who don't know what they're doing, don't indicate till the last second, who don't let you outa intersections, who drive at 75 in a 100k zone when I'm running late for work/tech, people who take 10 minutes to accelerate to the speed limit then start flooring it when you go to make a pass, people in slow vechiles who don't pull over on hill roads and cause big cues, people who talk on phones and swerve everywhere, people who drive crappy old cars with no springs and have a bad attitude, old people who take 16 years to drive round car parks, people who don't park properly and you can't get into the free park they've parked half way across, people who drive big vechiles who roll out over the lines at intersections and block your view, trucks and buses in general. I'm sure there's more.

I have noticed that everyone driving a new peugot seems to be an abysmal driver, most of them are old..

And the classic old man in the hat, watch out as they have no idea what they are doing and don't realise that there is anyone else on the road.

c. Not indicating
d. changing lanes aggressively
e. speeding up when you go to pass them

i do b very often , when someone sits up my ass for no good reason , then screw you buddy i go slower

Well since were talking plainly :D

its ok.... because statistically your not the only person in the world to do this there are countless other arrogant goobers in front of you that are slowing you down as well...

So your getting your own punishment.... you just to obsessed with yourself to realise it... - does it start to make sense now?
This thread is $&#$% gay but what you said is also $&#$% gay. I can't be bothered reading the rest but if someones already posted this then sorry. It makes alot of sense to leave space in front of your car, especially in rush hour. If the guy behind you gets rear ended (which is common in rush hour) then you have a space to move into so s/he doesn't rear end you and you stop the chain reaction there. If you were to get rear ended theres not alot of chance of stopping so you would hit the person in front and so on and so forth. So I will quite often leave a space in front of me, its helped on one occasion and maybe will again.

amen. i especially notice at traffic lights as people all take off at rush hour a massive amount of brake lights going on and off as people accelerate up way to close to the car in front of them, do they have no throttle control? They must be trying to make sure not a fist can fit between them and the car in front

I personally think that anything Honda/Mazda/Ford/Porsche/Ferrari/BMW/Merc is a POS Wanker mobile. That does not mean however that they suddenly become a sterio-type.

Steriotypical drivers however which I'm not going to go into detail with at the moment as I would get banned for speaking my mind and letting the public know what I really think of them are:

1. Asians - They just can't bloody drive no matter how you look at it.
2. Indians - Mostly limited to a bunch of $&#$% taxi drivers but please refer to the above aswell for this one.
3. Anyone with a cap that's not on straight - These are typically young white males who pretend to be black 'home-boyz' and wants to race every 2nd car to prove to the brainless blondie sitting next to him that he has a big PeNiS.

Yeah Well... Its my first pole and i dont make sense most of the time... But yeah i like you points... especially number 3 :)

Ollieboy my IE cache appears to be screwd so i cant quote you without a lot of copying, pasting and /quoting so im not gona bother...

I probably havnt been clear on this so let me clear it up as it sounds like im contradicting myself...

Obviously you need to leave space in front... it just makes good sense... i cant argue with that and i like to leave a bit of space in front and i get really pissed if someone stops right up my date... My levin is worth next to nothing now so one crash and the insurance people will write it off...

What im saying is that once the traffic starts crawling, if the space you leave in front of you is more than 3/4 of a car length your messing up the flow of traffic. As people in the other lane will start jumping in ahead of you.

There are only 3 ways i can think of to indicate to the person in front of you that they need to get a move on.

1. sit up their ass
2. flash your lights
3. honk your horn...

In my opinion 3 is just irritating the other people around you, 2 is unlikely to be noticed if the driver in front is off in their own little world anyway... If youve got a better suggestion i havent thought of id love to hear it cos im fresh out of ideas...

I watched a bus take a verrrrrry long lead on a passing lane on SH58 today - its double yellow lines but he didnt care - this to overtake the honda that'd been cruising along the 100km/h stretch at about 75 for the previous 7km or so - so frustration understood, however, I was about 4 vehicles back and had a cop car behind me! (Cop didn't do anything about it either. ffs.)

I didn't vote, as my pet peeve doesn't evenly fit into a stereotype.

My pet peeve resembles the Honda above, but is regularly emulated by Holdens, Toyota Hiaces and Light Trucks.

- Occupying the passing lane to pass a fractionally slower vehicle whilst barely making the speed limit yourself and jamming up traffic behind (on the only passing lane for a significant stretch of highway which is twisty and otherwise offers no passing opportunities

- Then travelling well below the speed limit along said stretch of highway regardless of the queue behind

- (in some instances) then flipping the bird when vehicles finally manage to get past!!

Sh58 is a terrible piece of road to use regularly, and I use it at least 8 times in a normal week... :| (roughly 4 out of 5 round trips to Porirua from the Hutt. The remainder would have me working late enough that home via the gorge is actually feasible...)
