Cant get my door handle out... (AE92 Levin)

Hey,

The passenger side door handle on my ae92 levin has broken (the two anchor points for the handle have broken so its only being held in by the lock, handle lines)

Ive got a handle, ive removed the interior cover, disconnected electric windows etc. But i cannot get the metal rod for the handle to release the door to open. It looks like i have to take off the inside allow but it looks as if it has been spot welded to the exterior alloy.

Has anyone ever done this? any advice would be greatly apreciated... i feel like a right idiot for not asking before i took the door apart

Use a large flat blade screwdriver to force the rod off the handle,you should be able to see a plastic bush or clip there,can be difficult to undo,this should work,unless someone has butchered your handle.

Sweet thanks mate... i thought of that but was concerned i was missing something, thought if i forced it i might break something...

To get the arms off just push with ur fingers, one of the arms u take the rubber bung off the door and put a screw driver through the hole and flick off the arm clip off and then flick the arm off, the other arm u can get to normally.

and u gota take the lock out unless u wana scratch ur paint on the doors.

then undo the 2 bolts that hold the handle in.
