Yokohama AO48 vs Dunlop DZO2G

Postby BigDon » Mon Aug 28, 2006 7:27 pm

Does any one have any experience/opinions of these tyres?

Yokohama AO48 or Dunlop DZO2G.

Yoko's are symmetrical and can be flipped while the Dunnies are asymmetrical so can’t

I’m looking at these in 205/50/15 on either Konig Helium (5.3kg per rim) or Advanti CPO35 (5.2kg per rim). For my BZG Levin.

Also has anyone had experience running say a medium compound n the front and a soft compound in the rear in a FWD track car?

I am trying to decide which way to go.

The TOMS ae101 & 111 race cars in Japan used to run 195/50R15 on the front & 185 on the rear. Seems to help them corner better. Not sure on the sience behind this.
My mate has dunlops on his civic & i went for a few laps around Taupo in it & was blown away with how much grip they had.

a narrower rear track can induce a wee bit of oversteer.

Ended up going for the Dunlop DZ02G 205/50/15 on 15 inch Advanti racing CPO35's. Im running a soft compound on the rear and a medium on the front. I have had them on the car scuffing the up with a light road use over the weekend and they have loads of grip.

I dont want any more oversteer than I will have when my trd coil overs and trd front and rear sway bars go in. The car goes from tending to understeer / neutral to serous oversteer.
